The highly anticipated Amy Winehouse documentary Amy is in select theaters now (and opening worldwide July 10), so if you haven’t seen it yet, this clip offers a sneak peek.
The three-minute video shows Winehouse recording “Back to Black” with producer Mark Ronson in a New York City studio in March, 2006. You’ll see her belting the song perfectly, effortlessly, without musical accompaniment.
“It was just one of those serendipitous things. I just caught her at that magic moment, and she was just ready to get it going,” Ronson says in the clip. “That’s why I couldn’t understand what everyone else was saying about this procrastinating, troubled artist.”
